Unveiling the Matatag Curriculum in the Philippines: An execution of the Department of Education to ameliorate the Filipino Learners for a quality Education.
The MATATAG Curriculum
has incorporated peace competencies that entail advocacy for peaceful actions
and skills in solving conflicts among the learners. This curricular approach
comes in handy in the present times characterized by social unrest and global tensions,
as the students must develop tolerance and the use of dialogue and
collaboration to resolving differences. As it scrapped several subjects but
they trade the best subjects that will serve a higher education.
The MATATAG Curriculum
brought about by DepEd has become the center of national focus within the new
era of education reform. This revolutionary curriculum seeks to ensure that the
students of the twenty-first century are adequately armed to maneuver through
the intricacies of modern culture.
The advantage is that the
years that the child will have to go to school will be lost. The disadvantage
is that they cannot learn many things in senior high school. Of where it helps
you to enhance your skills, to be prepared in tertiary learning, and readiness
to join the workforce as it offers different strands that will be align to your
future course. A strand that will give students enough time to master a field
and enhance their skills.
Additionally, the MATATAG
Curriculum intends to declutter the learning environment by removing irrelevant
information and exposing students to most relevant topics. This approach is
aimed at providing a deep understanding of basic subjects and improving the
quality of education.
In conclusion, the
MATATAG Curriculum serves as a major milestone in the continuous effort to
improve educational standards in the Philippines. This new curriculum is based
on peace competencies, reduction of curricular clutter, and increased
inclusiveness and collaborative teaching and learning. The promise of this
curriculum for Filipino students is to be empowered to become complete,
competent, and global citizens.
